Late Sat afternoon ride with Stretch

Decent ride out with Stretch, 35 miles at a reasonable pace, and our usual loop nr Hexham, Fourstones, Chollerford, Wall etc incorporating a few good climbs (pic).

Probably my last session before the Five Boro Tour, 7 days and 3,500 miles away!

Rain most of today so will take the opportunity to clean the bike and pack it.

Lance said I needed to keep a closer eye on "Anusol Man" and "Mule Boy" so I pitched camp in leafy Northumberland, not too from that hotbed of performance enhancing drug abuse, the Tyne Valley, to monitor your unbelievable progress from Mr Wheezy to Marco Pantanni . I have to say that the last two weekend rides have been very interesting. From the powering past me into Hexham leaving a faint aroma of "Eau de Anusol" to the absolute no show of Mule Boy,Adam,Paco or whatever he goes by these days? Paco the Mule is his name! I thought I'd recognised the mug shot you posted - he's none other than the son of the disgraced Festina soigneur Willy Voet. Obviously you can't pass Paco off as your son until he's brushed up on his English a bit - so it'll be a few weekends before he's allowed out with us. Anyway, as for the rides - I took you past Hexham police station in the hope that you'd turn yourself in. I then took you past Hexham Abbey, followed by the rather remote chapel, Our Lady of Haemorrhoids, in the hope that you'd seek forgiveness. But alas it wasn't to be, so inevitably I took you past that infamous public house, "The Rat"! Need I say more. Good luck in New York Mr B.
