L2P Day 1 summary

Well first day complete!

The actual riding was OK, some big hills to climb, and everyone thinks heading south to Dover is all downhill!!

Made good time to lunch - as mentioned previously, and was at the ferry stop by 3. Too much waiting about though all day, ferry didnt leave until 6:30, 20 mins before we could disembark, and then about 45 mins in Calais port stopping and starting as they bunched us up etc. 5 mile ride to hotel, arrived there almost 11pm France-time. tired, long-day, but the time and miles on the bike were good.

Ready for day 2? Well no option but didnt sleep well and have a headache - that means I've taken some drugs - shhh, they ARE only paracetamol, honest!!

See, I knew that number plate was more than a coincidence. Don't do it Davide (that's French for David by the way) - remember what happened to poor old Tommy Simpson. It's like the Festina scandal all over again. EPO, amphetamines, suducrem.... whatever next DB the anusol junkie!
Anyway have another pain free day in the saddle!

Nice one - and yes I WAS LATE to see you set off - had to get the taxi to emergency stop, u-turn and double back about half a mile past you to give me enough time to pay him, get out, and cheer you past all for the 5 seconds of it. It was worth it though, all the travelling down to the little hamlet quaint village of Londoncestershireville.................ride out the pain bruv.
