Great, Stretch for company so not solo today!

Fit, refreshed and raring to go back from his own relaxing vacation in the sun, my friend and cycling Buddy Stretch was all set for an outing in parts new for him - unfortunately no mercy was shown by yours truly, having enjoyed my 66 miles yesterday, and I duly led him out down to Tynemouth and up the coast to sample the delights of the North Sea coastal gales, and then inland for some traffic-heavy roads.
Welcome home to Blightly Lee, bosh that's a 60 miler! At least it's a bit flatter than you're used to out West.

Another metric century, 66 miles out through Morpeth, Belay & Stamfordham.

20 degrees cooler and about 20mph windier than last ride...

Back home from Mallorca, hence the temperature-drop, and the wind. Still, a metric-century - 100.9km and 775mtrs of ascending.

Last outing on the hire-bike, short, sweet and steep!! 30 miles, but 900mtrs of ascent. Out and back to the sea to the north, over a decent sized lump of a mountain.

Mallorca day 2 of 3

Thought I'd planned myself a decent route for the next morning, but when I got into it I realised although there was plenty of ascending, the loop would be a mere 24 or so miles, not enough, so managed to take a few different roads and extend the ride to 40 miles - and 875mtrs of climbing and a hotter day to-boot.

Grand Canyon already? Nope, training in the heat and climbs of Mallorca! 1 of 3

A week's holiday in Mallorca, so hired a bike for 3 days to get out in the mornings.
Heading out from Santa Ponsa, discovered that the short (Garmin-suggested) route to Andratx and Port Andratx, is actually on the motorway and through a tunnel - curiously pedestrians and cyclists prohibited, so retrace half-a-mile and take the long way round. Over a mountain!
